To start off with, if you do not know what DISQUS is, here is a link to our brief article about the plugin.
The next step is to create a DISCUS account (if you do not already have one):
Visit www.disqus.com. When you sign up, create a new account using the email address as your domain.
Like support@brixwork.com ---- NOT a @gmail.com or @hotmail.com account.
Once you have entered your domain email, a username and a password... click Next Step! Then click the option, "I want to install Disqus on my site".
You will now be asked to enter your website domain (like www.brixwork.com) and the category of your website.
For your website name, it is fine to use your domain name but be sure to leave out the WWW. and .COM.
From then click, "Create Site" and you will be taken to this page:
Click which plan you would like to have, the Basic plan is sufficient enough.
The next section will ask you what platform your site is on and you will click "WordPress".
Next, it will take you to this page:
The Disqus plug-in is already installed on your WordPress blog.
You will go to the menu at the top and click on SETTINGS, where you will see your "Shortname", which is what you created during your sign-up using your website name.
To activate and configure the Plug-In:
Log in to your WordPress account using your username & password. Your login is generally located at www.[yourdomain].com/blog/wp-admin.
Find your way to the dashboard on the left side of your WordPress backend you will see the Disqus tab.
It will take you to this page. You will scroll down to the bottom and click, "Click to make changes".
Then you will copy and paste the shortname you created on your Disqus account to the shortname section and scroll down and click, "Save".
That's all!
